Having given the classical definitions of the Euler gamma function and the logarithmic derivative of the gamma function that is called the digamma function and denoted by \(\Gamma ^{\prime}\) (x), this paper under review, proceeds to establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the function log \(\Gamma (1+x)\) to be completely monotonous on (0,\(\infty \)). Then this complete monotonicity of the function under study is applied to establish inequalities for bounding the gamma function, the \(n\)th harmonic number, and the factorial \(n\). Theorem 2.1 is the main result of the paper. Theorems 3.1 and 3.2 deal with applications of the main result. Theorem 3.4 shows the boundedness of the factorial \(n\).
