For a dynamical system, the \(\omega\)-limit (resp., the \(\alpha\)-limit) sets are sets that capture the asymptotic behavior of the system for forward (resp., backward) orbits. The problem of its topological characterization is quite complex and remains still open in the plane even for very particular type of maps like skew-product maps. The paper deals with the interesting problem of characterizing those maps for which the set of nonempty closed internally chain transitive sets is equal to the \(\omega\)-limit or the \(\alpha\)-limit sets of the same full trajectory. Examples highlighting the difference between these properties are provided. The key point in this work is the use of new shadowing properties.
