The topology of words which has been proposed by \textit{V. Turaev} in [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 95, No. 2, 360--412 (2007; Zbl 1145.57018)] is devoted to studying the set of stable equivalence classes of curves and link diagrams on surfaces. In the paper under review, the author introduces the notion of \((Q, R, S)\)-homotopy of nanowords, which generalizes Turaev's \(S\)-homotopy. As the main difference, the author makes some extra restrictions on the letters appearing in the first and second homotopy moves. A canonical injection from the set of nanophrases up to \(S\)-homotopy to the set of nanowords up to a particular \((Q, R, S)\)-homotopy is given.
