The general cover theorem unifies the results concerning products of locales obtained by Isbell, Dowker and Strauss, Johnstone, Kriz. It shows that the product of a family of finitely regular \(F\)-locales in again a finitely regular \(F\)-locale. Several applications are given, concerning known results, to compact locales, compact spaces (Tychonoff product theorem) paracompact locales, prime-metacompact finitely regular locales, \(c\)-compact finitely regular locales, Lindelöf locales, screenable and supercompact locales.
