The authors treat two closely related topics, one from operator theory and complex analysis, the other from control theory. The first topic is related to the solution of the weighted interpolation problem in model subspaces of the Hardy space that are canonically isometric to Paley-Wiener spaces of analytic functions. The second topic is an application of their results to finite-time controllability of diagonal systems specified by a \(C_0\)-semigroup.
