The paper deals with binary operations defined on distrete fuzzy numbers with an application to group consensus opinion based on discrete fuzzy weighted normed operators. A special attention is paid to triangular norms and conorms. Considering the support of discussed discrete fuzzy numbers to be contained in a chain \(L= \{0,1,\dots, n\}\), and triangular norms and conorms acting on \(L\) (i.e., increasing commutative associative binary operations on \(L\) with neutral element \(n\) and \(0\), respectively), an extension of these triangular norms and conorms to act on discrete fuzzy numbers is proposed and studied. Moreover, a version of Frank's functional equation \(T(x,y)+ S(x,y)= x+ y\) is discussed in this concept, too.
