The authors study the Cauchy problem \[ f(t,x,\dot x)= 0,\;\dot x\in\Omega\subseteq\mathbb{R}^n,\;t\in [a,b],\;x(a)= A, \] where the function \(f: [a,b]\times\mathbb{R}^n\times\Omega\to \mathbb{R}^m\) is measurable in the first argument, jointly continuous in the second and third argument, and satisfies \[ \forall{\rho> 0}\,\exists\Lambda> 0\,\forall x\in\mathbb{R}^n\,\forall v\in\Omega : |x|+ |v|\leq\rho\Rightarrow f(t,x,v)\leq\Lambda,\;t\in [a,b]. \] Here, \(\Omega\) is a closed subset of \(\mathbb{R}^n\). The joint continuity of \(f\) and its differentiability with respect to \(\dot x\) is not assumed so that classical analytical methods are not applicable. Generalizing suitably the notion of a solution to a Cauchy problem, the authors present some conditions under which a solution exists.
