In this paper, the authors study the problem when the difference of two composition operators is compact on the weighted Dirichlet spaces \(D_\alpha\) as well as on the space \(S^2\) of analytic functions whose first derivative is in the Hardy Hilbert space \(H^2\). By using the Calderón complex interpolation, they extend the results to the general weighted Dirichlet spaces. Finally, as a corollary, they consider composition operators induced by linear fractional self-maps of the disk.
