Let \(G\) be a compact Lie group and \(V\) be a finite-dimensional unitary representation of \(G\). The action of \(G\) on the underlying real symplectic manifold of \(V\) is Hamiltonian and admits a homogeneous quadratic moment map. The symplectic quotient \(M_0\) at the zero level of this moment map has the structure of a symplectic stratified space. Let \(\mathbb{R}[M_0]\) denote the \(\mathbb{N}\)-graded Poisson algebra of real regular functions on \(M_0\). This nice paper computes the Hilbert series of \(\mathbb{R}[M_0]\) for the case when \(G\) is the 2-torus. In particular, the authors compute the first four coefficients of the Laurent expansion of the Hilbert series at \(t=1\). The paper also describes an algorithm to compute the Hilbert series as well as the Laurent coefficients in explicit examples.
