The sextic moment problem is a truncated moment problem associated to a sequence of real numbers of the form \(\beta=(\beta_{j,k})_{0\leq j+k\leq 6}\), with \(\beta_{00}>0\). As usually, to solve such a problem means to look for conditions insuring the existence of a positve measure \(\mu\) on \(\mathbb{R}^2\) (which may be supposed to be atomic) such that \(\beta_{j,k}=\int x^jy^kd\mu(x,y)\), whenever \(0\leq j+k\leq 6\). As the title suggests, after a large presentation of several previous results due to R. Curto and/or L. Fialkow, and to the author as well, an approach to the nonsingular sextic moment problem in the presence of a reducible cubic column relation is exhibited, also including some related examples.
