The paper considers {regular Denjoy type homeomorphisms} on the two torus, i.e., homeomorphisms \(f:\mathbb{T}^ 2\to \mathbb{T}^2\) wich are semiconjugated to minimal translations of the torus and the non-trivial fibers of the semiconjugacy are closed disks with diameters converging to zero. The set of points whose fibers are nontrivial is called the characteristic set. Examples of regular Denjoy type homeomophisms were considered in [\textit{P. D. McSwiggen}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 117, No. 4, 1175--1186 (1993; Zbl 0830.54030)]. The authors study the conjugacy problem for regular Denjoy type homeomorphisms and prove the following statements: (1) Any two regular Denjoy type homeomorphisms are conjugated if and only if there exists a linear (affine) map conjugating the corresponding minimal translations and preserving the characteristic sets (Theorem 1); (2) For any minimal translation of the torus and any \(n\ge 2\) there is a continuum set of pairwise nonconjugated regular Denjoy type homeomorphisms semiconjugated to the minimal translation and whose characteristic set consists of \(n\) orbits (Theorem 2).
