In the present paper, the authors consider the Cauchy problem for the Fisher-KPP equation on the form \[ u_t=\Delta u+f(u),\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\ t>0 \] \[ u(x,0)=u_0(x),\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N \] where \(f(u)=u(1-u)\), \(\Delta \) is the Laplace operator with respect to the spatial variable \(x\in \mathbb{R}^N\). First they transform (by introducing a small parameter \(\varepsilon >0\)) the considered Cauchy problem to Cauchy problem for an first-order PDE of Hamilton-Jacobi type. Under some additional assumption for the transformed initial condition (which assumption implies that that the initial value \(u_0(x)\) decays more slowly than \(e^{-|x|}\) as \(|x|\to \infty\)) is proved that the motion of an interface (or a thin transition layer) can be approximated as a level set of the obtained first-order PDE of Hamilton-Jacobi type. The large-time behavior of solutions, especially, the existence of similarly expanding interfaces are studied too.
