Classifications of finite highly transitive dimensional linear spaces (Q1329343): Difference between revisions

The paper under review is a summary of the second thesis of the author and contains in a uniform setting former results of many other papers of her. The subject of the paper is the study of \(n\)-dimensional linear spaces (\(n\)-DLS) which can be seen also as geometric lattices. Therefore, the closed sets of such linear spaces fulfil the exchange property. All spaces are assumed to be finite. The investigation contains among other things: A list of all 2- homogeneously acting automorphism groups of linear spaces, a characterization of basis transitive DLSs, flag transitive linear spaces, (line/hyperplane)-flag transitive \(n\)-DLSs, a list of all chamber transitive \(n\)-DLSs with \(n \geq 3\), line primitivity. Deep results on group theory are used to get the results, for example the classification of all finite 2-transitive permutation groups resulting from the simple group classification. The paper is closed by a list of 123 references.
