A set \(K\subset {\mathbb R}\) of positive Lebesgue measure is called spectral set if there exists a countable set \(\Lambda\subset {\mathbb R}\) such that \(\{e^{2\pi i\lambda x}: \lambda\in\Lambda\}\) is an orthonormal basis for \(L^{2}(K)\). The authors study the spectral property of self-similar tiles on \({\mathbb R}\).
