In this paper, the authors study the existence of \(4\)-GDDs (group divisible design with block size \(4\)) in which all group sizes are congruent to \(2\) (mod \(3\)). Some general recursive construction methods are given to establish that if \(t\geq2\) and \(s\geq2\), then a \(4\)-GDD of type \(2^{t}8^{s}\) exists if and only if \(t+s\equiv1\) (mod \(3\)) and \(t+s\geq7\) except for some finite number of values of \(s\) and \(t\). Several \(4\)-GDDs with \(v\equiv2\) (mod \(3\)) and \(30<v\leq50\) have been found and a \(4\)-GDD of type \(4^{8}1^{1}10^{1}\) is given.
