The authors study twisted states (the spatially-discrete analogue of uniformly rotating waves) in various types of networks of phase oscillators. Specifically, they consider complete, Cayley, Paley and Erdös-Rényi graphs. While some of these graphs have similar structural properties as the number of vertices becomes large, the asymptotic behaviour of the Kuramoto phase oscillator model on them can be qualitatively different. Stability and synchronisation are studied using linearisation and Lyapunov functions. The results give insight into the relationship between a network's structure and resulting dynamics on it.
