Let \(\Omega\) denote a simplex in \(n\)-dimensional Euclidean space \(\mathbb{R}^n\) and let \(\Pi\) denote a parallelotope contained in \(\Omega\). The authors show the sharp inequality \(V(\Omega)\geq (n^n/n!)V(\Pi)\) by using induction on the dimension \(n\) where \(V(\cdot)\) denotes \(n\)-dimensional volume. They also show a similar inequality where \(\Pi\) is replaced by a ``stack'' of parallelotopes contained in \(\Omega\). Finally they show for a simplex \(\Omega\) and a point \(P\) in the interior of \(\Omega\) that for the Ceva simplex \(J\) of \(P\) with respect to \(\Omega\) there always exists a spanning parallelotope of \(J\) which is completely contained in \(\Omega\). If \(\Omega\) has vertices \(\langle A_0,\dots, A_n\rangle\) then the vertex \(B_i\) of the Ceva simplex lies on the intersection of the line through \(P\) and \(A_i\) with the facet of \(\Omega\) opposite to \(A_i\). And a spanning parallelotope of \(J\) with respect to a vertex \(B_i\) is the parallelotope spanned by the edges from \(B_i\) to \(B_j\) for all \(j\neq i\).
