A continuous iteration semigroup is a map \(F:(0,\infty )\times X \rightarrow X\) which is continuous in the first variable and satisfies the translation equation \(F(t(F(s,x)))=F(t+s,x)\). A map \(f:X\rightarrow X\) is embeddable in the continuous iteration semigroup provided \(f=F(1,\cdot)\). Given an interval \(I\), a continuous function \(\mu :I^2\rightarrow I\) is a mean if \(\min \{ x,y\} \leq \mu (x,y) \leq \max \{ x,y\}\). In addition, it is strict if the inequalities are sharp and symmetric if \(\mu (x,y)=\mu (y,x)\). If \(I=(0,\infty)\), the mean is homogeneous if \(\mu (tx,ty)=t\mu(x,y)\). The main aim of this paper is to find conditions for embedding two homogeneous symmetric strict means \(\mu\) and \(\nu\) to be embeddable in a continuous iteration semigroup.
