From the author's presentation: In a previous paper [Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 27, No. 3, 15-28 (1993)] \textit{S. N. Lakaev} considered the discrete Schr\(\ddot{o}\)dinger operator describing a system of three identical quantum particles (bosons) interacting by zero-range attractive potentials under general assumptions on the bosom energy \(\varepsilon(q)\), \(q \in T^3\), where \(T^3\) is the \(3\)-dimensional torus. In the present paper we consider the difference Schr\(\ddot{o}\)dinger operator, i.e. the case \(\varepsilon(q)=\sum_{i=1}^3(1-\cos q_i)\), and show that the Efimov's effect exists only for the zero value of the total quasimomentum \((K=0)\) and for some \(\mu=\mu_0>0,\) whereas for all other \(K\in T_3\) and \(\mu>0\) the operator \(H_\mu(K)\) has only finitely many eigenvalues outside the essential spectrum. This nontrivial dependence on the total quasimomentum of the system permits us to state Efimov's effect for a system of quantum particles on the lattice as follows: if the left endpoints of the ``three-particle'' and the ``two-particles'' branches of the essential spectrum are the same and coincide with a virtual level of the operator \(h_\mu(2K/3)+\varepsilon(K/3)I,\) where \(h_\mu(k)\) is the two-particle operator and \(I\) is the identity operator, then the three-particle operator \(H_\mu(K)\) has infinitely many eigenvalues to the left of the essential spectrum.
