A \(k\)-arc in a finite projective plane is called hyperfocused, if its secants meet some external line in \(k-1\) points [compare \textit{W. E. Cherowitzo} and \textit{L. D. Holder}, Simon Stevin 12, No. 5, 685--696 (2005)]. Assume that \(r>4\) is not a prime. The authors construct a translation \(k\)-arc in the projective plane \(\text{PG}(2,2^r)\) which is not contained in any hyperoval or any proper subplane, and such that the secants cover all points of some affine part of \(\text{PG}(2,2^r)\).
