The authors present the principles of CRONE (Commande Robuste d'Ordre Non Entier) control, a design methodology for robust control based on fractional differentiation. An analysis in the frequency domain of continuous time-varying plants with asymptotically constant coefficients is presented. A stability theorem valid for feedback systems, including time-varying plants with asymptotically constant coefficients, is given, and CRONE control is extended to such plants as well.
