The authors study the problem of existence of intrinsic rollings (without twisting or slipping) along two curves in two abstract Riemannian manifolds. The authors study first the problem for surfaces. In this case, the existence of a rolling is shown in Theorem 2.3, if and only if the two curves have the same geodesic curvatures. Theorem 3.3 generalizes this result to arbitrary dimension. If the pair of curves are not smooth enough, the existence of rollings is discussed in Theorem 3.4. It is shown that there exists a rolling for a pair of curves if and only if the two curves have the same set of anti-development curves.
