An operator \(H=-\Delta +V\) is replaced by K which is obtained from H by imposing a Dirichlet boundary condition on some bounded surface S. S partitions \(R^ n\) into \(n+1\) subregions, n being a number of minima of a potential V. It is proven that \(Tr(e^{-Ht}-e^{-Kt}),\) \(\| e^{- Ht}-e^{-Kt}\|\) and \(\| (H+\lambda)^{-m}-(K+\lambda)^{- m}\|\) are small, with bounds being obtained by functional integration.
