The main result of the present paper -- Theorem 2.5 -- provides a new commutant lifting theorem (CLT) for a given finite family of not necessarily analytic test functions. Together with a certain approximation argument, this result extends the CLT for the polydisc of \textit{J. ,A. Ball, W. S. Li, D. Timotin} and \textit{T. T. Trent} [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 48, No. 2, 653--675 (1999; Zbl 0953.32010)]. The main tool is the technique of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. Among other results, an intertwining lifting version of the basic theorem and an abstract Beurling Theorem are presented.
