When \textit{A. K. Lerner} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2013, No. 14, 3159--3170 (2013; Zbl 1318.42018)] gave a proof of the \(A_2\) conjecture: \[ \| T \|_{L^2(w)} \leq C(n,T) \| w \|_{A_2}, \] where \(T\) is an \(L^2\) bounded Calderón-Zygmund operator, he established the pointwise control of \(Tf\) by a sparse operator. One of main results is an extension of this inequality for sparse operator to the martingale setting, with a very simple proof. The author uses only the weak \(L^1\) inequality for the maximal function and the maximal truncation of the martingale transform. Applying this, he gives a new elementary proof of the \(A_2\) conjecture.
