An optical orthogonal \((n,4,\lambda,3)\)-code is said to be optimal if the size of this code is the largest possible among all \((n,4,\lambda,3)\)-OOCs. In this paper the authors determine the exact value of this largest possible size for \(\lambda=1\) and \(\lambda=2\), so the size of an optimal \((n,4,\lambda,3)\)-OOC for \(\lambda=1\) and \(\lambda=2\) is calculated.
