The authors have examined bulk properties of neutron stars in general relativity and the scalar-tensor theory of gravity. In particular, they discussed the current uncertain role of the density dependence of the nuclear symmetry energy in the determination of the equation of state of neutron-star matter. They have shown that astrophysical and gravitational wave observations of radii of neutron stars with masses \( M \leq 1.4 M_{\odot} \) constrain only the nuclear equation of state, and in particular the density dependence of the nuclear symmetry energy. The article is interesting and adds value to the subject.
