    The aim of this paper is to determine the asymptotic behavior of the exact constants of the Nikolskii inequalities for the space \(\Pi_{n}^{d}\) of spherical polynomials of degree at most \(n\) on the unit sphere \(\mathbb{S}^{d}\subset \mathbb{R}^{d+1} \) as \(n\to\infty\) (cf. Theorems 1.1 and 1.2, and their proofs in Sections 3, 4 and 5, respectively). More precisely, the authors show following main results: \begin{itemize} \item For \(0<p<\infty\), \[ \lim _{n \rightarrow \infty} \sup \left\{\frac{\|P\|_{L^{\infty}\left(S^{d}\right)}}{n^{\frac{d}{p}}\|P\|_{L_{V\left(\mathbb{S}^{d}\right)}}}: P \in \Pi_{n}^{d}\right\}=\sup \left\{\frac{\|f\|_{L^{\infty}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right)}}{\|f\|_{L^{p}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right)}}: f \in \mathcal{E}_{p}^{d}\right\}, \] where \(\mathcal{E}_{p}^{d}\) denotes the space of all entire functions of spherical exponential type at most \(1\) whose restrictions to \(\mathbb{R}^{d}\) belong to the space \(L^{p}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right)\), and the convention \(0/0=0\) is adopted. \item For \(0<p<q<\infty\), \[ \liminf _{n \rightarrow \infty} \sup \left\{\frac{\|P\|_{L^{q}\left(S^{d}\right)}}{n^{d(1 / p-1 / q)}\|P\|_{L^{p}\left(S^{d}\right)}}: P \in \Pi_{n}^{d}\right\} \geq \sup \left\{\frac{\|f\|_{L^{q}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right)}}{\|f\|_{L^{p}\left(\mathbb{R}^{d}\right)}}: f \in \mathcal{E}_{p}^{d}\right\}. \] \item The exact value of the Nikolskii constant for \(p=1\), \(q=\infty\) and nonnegative functions \(f \in \mathcal{E}_{1}^{d}\). \end{itemize} As the authors point out, their results extend those of \textit{E. Levin} and \textit{D. S. Lubinsky} [J. Anal. Math. 125, 243--283 (2015; Zbl 1320.30010); Comput. Methods Funct. Theory 15, No. 3, 459--468 (2015; Zbl 1327.42030)] for trigonometric polynomials on the unit circle.
