As in the paper by \textit{J. Schröder}, the present author discusses the computer-assisted existence proofs for two-point boundary value problems but in scalar case: \(-U'' + F(x,U,U') = 0\) \((0 \leq x \leq 1)\), \(B_ 0[U] = B_ 1[U] = 0\). The method consists of two parts. These are to get some approximate solution of the problem and to calculate its error bounds ensuring the existence of a true solution. Along the Newton-collocation method for the first part, the author gives a detailed way to estimate error bounds. His result is illustrated by two numerical examples, first of which is to look fo \(2\pi\)-periodic solutions of the forced pendulum equation, while the second is for the case \(F = \lambda U[1 - {1\over 2}U'{}^ 2 - {1\over 8}U'{}^ 4]\), \(U(0) = U'(1) = 0\). Their bifurcation diagrams are successfully obtained.
