    Fuzzy normal subgroups [cf. \textit{W. M. Wu}, Math. Appl. 1, No. 3, 9-20 (1988; Zbl 0668.20026), \textit{M. Akgül}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 133, 93- 100 (1988; Zbl 0652.20002), \textit{M. Asaad}, Fuzzy Sets Syst. 39, 323-328 (1991; Zbl 0718.20036)] and fuzzy congruence relations [cf. \textit{P. Bhattacharya}, \textit{N. P. Mukherjee}, Inf. Sci. 36, 267-282 (1985; Zbl 0599.20003), \textit{D. S. Malik}, \textit{J. N. Mordeson}, Inf. Sci. 56, 193- 198 (1991; Zbl 0718.20037)] were treated separately in recent papers. This paper states that the one-to-one correspondence between normal subgroups and congruence relations known from group theory is valid in a fuzzy setting.
