The authors consider a multimatrix \(X\) of any dimension \(q\) and size \(m=\bigl(m(1),m(2),\ldots,m(q)\bigr)\), i.e., a higher dimensional matrix \(X=(X_{r(1),\ldots,r(q)})_{1\leq r(k)\leq m(k)}\), \(k=1,2,\ldots,q\), whose entries constitute a system of \(m(1)m(2)\cdots m(q)\) independent indeterminates over a field \(K\). The following result is obtained: For every \(q>2\), the standard monomials in the multiminors of the multimatrix \(X\) are linearly independent over \(K\).
