The author studies the initial-boundary value problem for the following partial differential system: \(\rho\bigl(\partial_ tv+(v\cdot\nabla)v\bigr)+\nabla p(\rho)=0\), \(\partial_ t\rho+\nabla\cdot(\rho v)=0\) in the half space \(x_ 3>0\). The boundary condition: \(v_ 3=0\) at \(x_ 3=0\). One of the main results is a theorem stating that there exists a local (in \(t)\) solution \((v,\rho)\) to the problem provided the initial data satisfy some reasonable assumptions.
