For the 2-D eddy current problem, the convergence properties of the Schwarz alternating method [cf. \textit{H. A. Schwarz}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 70, 105-120 (1869; F.d.M. 2, 626)] and the related computational methods of the authors [Computational and applied mathematics, II: Differential equations, Sel. Rev. Pap. IMACS 13th World Congr., Dublin/Irel. 1991, 259-268 (1992; Zbl 0766.65097)] are investigated. Several numerical experiments are described.
