This paper deals with the problem of the existence of \(\alpha\)-valuations (= special graceful valuations) of all graphs \(G\) of the shape \(G = kC_ m\), \(k \geq 1\), \(m \geq 3\). The authors succeed in giving a partial solution by settling the case \(m = 4\). They conclude their contribution by presenting a lot of examples of \(\alpha\)-valuations.
