The author imbeds a two-dimensional nonlinear partial differential equation of elliptic type into a two-parameters family of homotopic equations. He builds up these families such that he can solve them through an iterative process containing only linear problems. At every iterative step he uses the traditional boundary element method. A mildly nonlinear elliptic Dirichlet problem is solved in order to justify the method considered. However, the pretended general theory remains at a rather experimental (unproved) level.
