The authors give a negative answer to the three space problem for the Banach space properties ``to be isomorphic to a dual space and to be complemented in a dual space''. At the very outset the authors provide counterexamples and subsequently try to sharpen them by using some sophisticated tools as introduced by them; the tools are `\(0\)-linear maps' and a nonlinear version of the Hahn-Banach theorem. Finally, it has been shown that there is a twisted sum of \(\ell_2\) and a separable dual that is not isomorphic to a dual space.
