The authors study the effect of round-off errors on the numerical evaluation of the logistic map \(x_{n+1}=Ax_n(1-x_n)\). They show that for special rational choices of the parameter \(A\) and the initial value \(x_0\) it may happen that using a higher number of digits in the arithmetics leads to less precision in the result.
