Using some results of \textit{M. G. Krejn} [Doklady Akad. Nauk SSSR 105, 637-640 (1955; Zbl 0068.28502)] on the analogy between orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle and generalized eigenfunctions of a certain system of first-order ODEs, the author provides proofs of some results related to the spectral properties of the radial Schrödinger equation.
