Let \(f\) be a rational self-map of \(\mathbb{P}^k\). We assume that \(f\) is algebraically stable : it means that the codimension of the indeterminancy locus of \(f^n\) is at least \(2\) for all \(n \geq 1\). We note \(I\) the indeterminacy locus of \(f\). Recall that the Fatou set \(F\) is the subset of points \(z\) such that \((f^n)_n\) is normal in a neighborhood of \(z\). The author proves the following dichotomy: if \(U\) is a Fatou component (i.e. a connected component of \(F\)), then the subset \(\{ z \in U \, , \, \overline{O_x} \cap I \neq \emptyset \}\) is the empty set or is equal to \(U\). Here, \(O_x\) is the orbit of \(x\) by the action of \(f\). In the latter case, the open set \(U\) is Stein.
