The author considers a compressible miscible flow in a simple physical setting, a one-dimensional porous medium and takes into account two mechanisms of migration: the convection and the molecular diffusion. He neglects the dispersion effects. For the problems under considerations the author presents an existence result and also states the uniqueness of strong soution. The main difficulty in the paper lies in stating a maximum principle for the Darcy velocity, which is a solution of a nonlinear and highly coupled parabolic equation.
