A group \(G=AB\) is called the mutually permutable product of \(A\) and \(B\) if \(A\) permutes with every subgroup of \(B\) and conversely. In this paper, the authors prove a structural theorem about mutually permutable products of finite groups. This result is used to derive some results on mutually permutable products of groups whose chief factors are simple. Some earlier results on mutually permutable products of supersoluble groups appear as particular cases.
