A product \(G=AB\) of two subgroups \(A\) and \(B\) is called totally permutable if every subgroup of \(A\) permutes with every subgroup of \(B\). It is known that if \(A\) and \(B\) are finite and supersoluble, then so is \(G\). The authors investigate other group theoretical properties that are inherited by totally permutable products of finite groups. In particular this is the case for the class SC of all groups in which the chief factors are simple, and the class PST of all groups in which S-permutability is a transitive relation. Here a subgroup \(H\) of a group \(G\) is called S-permutable if \(H\) permutes with every Sylow subgroup of \(G\).
