A blowup result for the critical exponent in cones (Q910552): Difference between revisions

The authors consider positive solutions of the initial value problem for \[ u_ t=\Delta u+u^ p\quad in\quad cones\quad D={\mathbb{R}}^+\times \Omega \subseteq {\mathbb{R}}^ N\quad (\Omega \subseteq S^{N-1}), \] and they prove that a critical exponent \(p^*(\Omega)\) belongs to the blow- up case. This generalizes a well-known result for the critical exponent \(p^*=1+2/N\) in \(D={\mathbb{R}}^ N\). This extends earlier work of the authors.
