Hecke operators with respect to the modular group of quaternions (Q2640638): Difference between revisions

The author deals with those modular forms over the Hurwitz integral quaternions which are analogous to Siegel modular forms for the full symplectic group over \({\mathbb{Z}}\). He first continues his study of the corresponding Hecke operators [begun in Proc. Indian Acad. Sci., Math. Sci. 97, 201-229 (1987; Zbl 0659.10027)] and obtains results on simultaneous eigenforms, e.g. Siegel-Eisenstein series. He then deals with those theta-series of degree n and weight k divisible by 4 which over the Hurwitz quaternions correspond to degree n theta-series of positive definite even unimodular quadratic forms over \({\mathbb{Z}}\). It is shown that the space spanned by them is stable under part of the Hecke algebra, and Hecke operators are used to obtain Siegel's formula in the case when 4n-2 is smaller than k.
