Let \(D\) be a homogeneous Siegel domain of the second type. The main result of the paper is that a bounded real valued Hua-harmonic function on \(D\) is pluriharmonic. A function is called Hua-harmonic if it is annihilated by a certain finite system \(\mathbf H\) of second order differential operators, which was introduced by L. K. Hua for the classical symmetric domains; it is well-defined for all Kählerian manifolds since it can be written in terms of the Kähler structure. \(\mathbf H\) is an equivariant mapping of \(C^\infty(D)\) into the space of sections of Hom\(\,(T^{1,0},T^{1,0})\). It is defined by the equality \(({\mathbf H}F\cdot Z,W)=\kern3pt\)T{}r\(\,(R(\overline W,Z)\triangle_F)\), where \(F\in C^\infty(D)\), \(Z\) and \(W\) are smooth sections of \(T^{1,0}\), and \(\triangle_F\) is defined by \[ (\triangle_F U,V)=\triangle(U,V)F=(U\overline V-\nabla_U\overline V)F \] for all smooth vector fields \(U,V\); the curvature tensor \(R\), the connection \(\nabla\), and the brackets in the left-hand side, which denote the inner product, correspond to the Bergman metric. There is an explicit formula in a local orthonormal frame \(E_1,\dots,E_n\): \[ {\mathbf H}F=\sum\nolimits_{j,k=1}^n(\triangle(E_j,E_k) F) R(\overline{E}_j,E_k). \] If fact, the result is stronger since it is proved for weakly Hua-harmonic bounded functions. By definition, this class consists of functions that are annihilated by the Laplace--Beltrami operator \(\triangle\), which is the trace of \(\mathbf H\), and differential operators \({\mathbf H}_1,\dots,{\mathbf H}_r\) defined by \({\mathbf H}_k F=({\mathbf H}F\cdot Z_k,Z_k)\), \(F\in C^\infty(D)\), where \(Z_1,\dots,Z_r\) are some special vector fields. They are written explicitly in terms of the matrix algebra (or the left symmetric algebra) which, according to Vinberg's results [\textit{E. B.~Vinberg}, Trans. Mosc. Math. Soc. 12, 340--403 (1963); translation from Tr. Mosk. Mat. O.-va 12, 303--358 (1963; Zbl 0138.43301)], corresponds to the homogeneous cone that defines the homogeneous Siegel domain \(D\); \(r\) is the rank of the matrix algebra. It is shown in the paper [\textit{R. Penney}, Ann. Math.(2), 158, No.~3, 711--768 (2003; Zbl 1185.32004)] that the asymptotic expansions of Hua-harmonic functions is a powerful tool for analysis on homogeneous non-symmetric bounded domains (among other things, it contains an \(L^2\)-version for the characterization of the Hua-harmonic functions as pluriharmonic ones). Such a domain admits a simply transitive action of a solvable Lie group \(S\), which can be defined in terms of the matrix algebra. Thus, the equation \({\mathbf H}f=0\) can be considered as a problem of a left invariant Kähler geometry on \(S\). In this paper, the author uses asymptotic expansions that differ from the expansions of the paper of R.~Penney mentioned above. They are constructed for only one differential operator.
