The authors present a general theory of decomposing self-dual codes over \(F_2 + u F_2\) that have an automorphism of odd prime order. The theory is applied to classify all Lee-extremal and Lee-optimal codes self-dual codes of lengths 9 to 16 with an odd order automorphism. Also, the codes of lengths 17 to 20 are partially classified.
