Matrix extension plays a crucial role in the construction of \(d\)-variate biorthogonal wavelets. \textit{C. A. Micchelli} and \textit{Y. Yu} [Multidimensional Syst. Signal Process. 8, No. 1--2, 31--69 (1997; Zbl 0872.42010)] investigated the general solutions of matrix extension associated with biorthogonal multiwavelets in \(L^2(E)\), where \(E\subset {\mathbb R}^d\) is compact. In this paper, the authors consider the general solution of matrix extension associated with multiple channel biorthogonal wavelet filters. As examples, biorthogonal univariate wavelet filters with 3 channels and biorthogonal bivariate wavelet filters with 4 channels are given.
