\textit{M.~Bożejko} and \textit{M. A.~Picardello} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 117, No. 4, 1039--1046 (1993; Zbl 0780.43002)] considered the characteristic functions \(\chi_n\) of \(X_n=\{(x,y)\in X\times X: d(x,y)=n\}\) for a tree \(X\) and proved that the norms of their Schur multiplier grow at most linearly. In the paper under review the author studies the geometry of CAT(0) cube complexes and proves that in the finite-dimensional CAT(0) cube complex case, the corresponding norms grow at most polynomially. As a consequence, the author obtains that a group acting properly on a finite-dimensional CAT(0) cube complex is weakly amenable with Cowling-Haagerup constant 1.
