The \(\mathcal P\)-regular semigroups are a generalization of regular *-semigroups and orthodox semigroups [\textit{M. Yamada} and \textit{M. K. Sen}, Semigroup Forum 39, No. 2, 157-178 (1989; Zbl 0664.20039)]. Regular *-transversals of \(\mathcal P\)-regular semigroups are defined by \textit{R.-H. Zhang} [J. Pure Math. 15, 23-44 (1998; Zbl 1053.20524)]. The properties and structure of the \(\mathcal P\)-regular semigroups having regular *-transversals are investigated. In particular, the idempotent separating congruences and the group congruences on such \(\mathcal P\)-regular semigroups are described.
