Using Morse theory, \textit{M. Atiyah} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 14, 1--15 (1982; Zbl 0482.58013)], \textit{V. Guillemin} and \textit{S. Sternberg} [Invent. Math. 67, 491--513 (1982; Zbl 0503.58017), Invent. Math. 77, 533--546 (1984; Zbl 0561.58015)] proved symplectic convexity theorems for Hamiltonian torus actions on symplectic manifolds. Using similar methods, \textit{E. Lerman} and \textit{S. Tolman} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 349, 4201--4230 (1997; Zbl 0897.58016)] proved the orbifold version of these results. An alternative approach was proposed by \textit{J. Hilgert, K.-H. Neeb} and \textit{W. Plank} [Compos. Math. 94, No. 2, 129--180 (1994; Zbl 0819.22006)] who used a `local-global principle' to prove a similar result on symplectic manifolds under slightly different assumptions. This paper presents a proof of the orbifold case using the Hilgert-Neeb-Plank approach. The author claims the new proof is easier and more intuitive than the proof based on Morse theory.
